My research is in the area of cognitive and perceptual motor development. My focus in cognitive development is on how children reason about events in the world. I have been examining how children learn and reason about events which are possible in the world (such as growth and metamorphosis), events which are achieved by trickery (magic), and events which are possible only in fantasy (such as frogs turning into princess). In the perceptual motor area, I investigate how various components (cognitive, perceptual, and motoric) influence the development and performance of everyday tasks such as walking, catching and drawing.
