INTERNSHIPS
Journalism
The IHS Journalism Internship Program places talented writers in paid internships in print, broadcast, and investigative journalism. IHS Journalism Internships provide a stipend, housing allowance, and travel allowance. Placements are available at newspapers, media networks, and state-policy organizations and take place during spring, summer and fall. Production
IHS Production Internships offer placements in feature film, documentaries, video game development and animation. Placements are available for spring, summer and fall and take place in New York, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, and other major media centers across the country. We consider applicants at all levels of experience—from extensive camera work and training in Final Cut Pro to simply a general interest and desire to work in the film and media industry. Public Policy Internships
The Charles G. Koch Summer Fellow Program offers paid public policy internships at think tanks and nonprofits. Journalists considering a political beat can learn how to analyze government policies and will develop a network of contacts within the policy world. SCHOLARSHIPS
Master of Fine Arts
IHS Film & Fiction Scholarships award up to $10,000 for tuition and expenses. Open to all students who will be pursuing an MFA full-time in the 2010-2011 school year. The application is online; the deadline to apply is January 15. More information is available at www.TheIHS.org/mfa.
Undergraduate and Graduate Studies
The Humane Studies Fellowships award up to $12,000 to outstanding undergraduate and graduate students, including those in the fields of law and journalism, who are exploring the principles, practices, and institutions necessary to a free society through their academic work. Cesar Chavez Fellowship (2010-2011)
The National Farm Workers Service Center (NFWSC) is accepting applications for the Cesar E. Chavez Fellowship. A year-long fellowship available to recent college graduates, or individuals with equivalent work experience and skills, interested in:
• community and resource building
• learning more about nonprofits
• managing an after-school and summer program
• supervising volunteers
• connecting with parents
• learning more about youth development.
As a Cesar E. Chavez Fellow, you will have the unique opportunity to connect with underprivileged disenfranchised communities and partner with families, youth and teens to empower themselves and improve their quality of life. As a fellow you will:
• oversee our Si Se Puede! Learning Center programs (after-school & summer program)
• build and establish community resources
• recruit and coordinate local volunteers
• develop curriculum
